HC Deb 20 June 1991 vol 193 cc323-4W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Minister for the Arts what assessment he has made of the impact of Government policy on opportunities for(a) adults and (b) young people to be involved in community-based arts projects.

Mr. Renton

[holding answer 18 June 1991]: The Government's support for community arts is channelled through the Arts Council of Great Britain and the regional arts associations. Both provide financial support for the Arts Development Association which represents those involved in the provision of community-based arts projects. The regional arts associations also support a wide range of individual projects, usually in partnership with local authorities. These provide many opportunities for involvement by all sections of the community.
