§ Mr. SainsburyThe countries of Latin America, like other members of the GATT, would benefit from the200W improved market access for their products and the strengthening of the world trading system which would result from a successful conclusion to the Uruguay round of trade negotiations. The negotiations are not directly concerned with ameliorating rain-forest problems, but the GATT does allow the introduction of trade measures for conservation purposes, as long as these are not simply disguised restrictions on trade.
