§ Mr. Terry Davis
To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many applications for review by a social fund inspector were outstanding for more than one month on 31 May.

On 31 May 1991, there were 1,355 such applications.

§ Mr. Terry Davis
To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many social fund inspectors were employed on 31 December 1990, 31 January, 28 February, 31 March, 30 April and 31 May.

§ Mr. Scott
The number of social fund inspectors employed between December 1990 and May 1991 is shown in the table. The figures in brackets denote the number of those who were in training on those dates. An exercise to recruit a further eight inspectors is in progress.
