To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what estimates his Department has made of the stocks of pesticides, prohibited under European Community and United Kingdom legislation, currently being held in Britain.

In 1990 the British Agrochemicals Association—BAA—and the United Kingdom Agricultural Supply Trade Association—UKASTA—carried out a survey which suggested that there might be 1,000 to 2,000 tonnes of non-approved pesticides on farms in Great Britain. The BAA and UKASTA are developing,
