HC Deb 18 June 1991 vol 193 c121W
Ms. Armstrong

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the amount per child each authority allocates in local management of schools schemes for non-statemented children who have learning difficulties.

Mr. Fallon

Under schemes of local management, local authorities fund special needs in a variety of ways. Some of the resources are distributed as part of the base funding per pupil, while some are allocated by means of special factors which take into account the unevenness in the incidence of special needs across the authorities' schools. Accordingly it is not possible to identify the totality of the resources allocated in respect of special needs for pupils without statements.
