§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list those allowances administered by his Department in regard to which applications are(a) fully dealt with by local offices in all but exceptional circumstances or when there is a formal appeal, (b) dealt with entirely by non-local offices on a national or regional basis and (c) dealt with through a mixture of local and national/regional means.
§ Miss WiddecombeThe administration of social security benefits is a matter for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.
