HC Deb 14 June 1991 vol 192 cc693-4W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what date he received representations from the Welsh Language Board on the difficulties experienced by the family of the late Mrs. Mair Irene Davies in having the inquest proceedings conducted in Welsh; on what date he sent a substantive reply; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

Representations from the Welsh Language Board about the inquest into the death of Mrs. Mair Irene Davies were first received on 31 October 1990. Following consultations with the coroner concerned, a substantive reply was sent on 28 January 1991. Further correspondence from the board was received on 6 February, which was again passed on to the coroner concerned for comments. We hope to reply shortly.
