§ Dr. MawhinneyWe have sought to include in the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Bill measures which should help to ensure that the financiers of terrorism will not profit from their illegal activities. I am pleased to say that the measures have received wide support in this House and in another place.
20. Mr. John D. TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people have died as a result of terrorist incidents since Thursday 2 May; and how many of these deaths were caused by(a) republican terrorists, (b) loyalist terrorists and (c) the security forces.

The Provisional IRA has claimed responsibility for seven of the murders. To date no organisation has claimed responsibility for the murder of one policeman and one soldier. Three men, apparently members of the Provisional IRA, were killed in an incident at Coagh involving members of the security forces.
