§ Mr. Simon HughesTo ask the Lord President of the Council, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Gedling (Mr. Mitchell) of 6 June,Official Report, column 319, what percentage of publications printed by Her Majesty's Stationery Office on behalf of the House of Commons is not of archival significance; and what are the reasons for not producing such material on recycled paper.
§ Mr. MacGregorIt is not possible to give an objective estimate of the percentage of publications considered to be of archival significance. The Accommodation and Administration Sub-Committee is giving further consideration to the use of recycled paper for the Vote bundle, which could include a trial run by HMSO during the summer recess, and I would be prepared to ask it to carry out similar exercises for material which is clearly not of archival significance.
