HC Deb 12 June 1991 vol 192 c581W
Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, pursuant to his oral answer to the hon. Member for Linlithgow (Mr. Dalyell), 5 June,Official Report, column 264, if he will state, so far as is known to his Department, the number of companies which have won contracts in Kuwait, and the number and value of contracts won by companies employing fewer than 20 people.

Mr. Sainsbury

I am aware of 52 companies which have won contracts in Kuwait with a total of at least £190 million. One of these companies has fewer than 20 employees and has won a contract worth £500,000.

It is not possible to determine how many companies with fewer than 20 employees will benefit from sub-contracts.
