To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will ban the export of all animals for experimentation;

(2) if he will list the countries to which the exportation of animals for experimentation is not allowed.

Mrs. Rumbold

No such bans exist, nor do the Government have any plans to introduce such restrictions.

Mr. Martlew

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many dogs were exported from the United Kingdom for experimentation in each year since 1985.

Mrs. Rumbold

The Home Office does not collect such statistics.
