HC Deb 10 June 1991 vol 192 cc451-2W
17. Mr. Butler

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he has taken to ensure that there will be an adequate supply of Welsh language teachers to meet the needs for the national curriculum.

Sir Wyn Roberts

The requirements of the national curriculum including those in relation to Welsh, are being taken fully into account in setting the intakes to initial teacher training, in the revision of criteria for initial teacher training courses, devising recruitment policies and in the planning of the grants for education support and training programme.
