To ask the Minister for the Arts what action he is taking to encourage the use of libraries especially by children and young people.

Mr. Renton

The aim of my public library development incentive scheme is to extend and improve public library service in England, and most award-winning projects promote their better use. Two projects have been directly concerned with children and young people.
