To ask the Attorney-General what was the total amount spent by the Land Registry in the 1990–91 financial year on management and computer consultancy contracts, excluding hardware and software purchases; and if he will list each management or computer consultancy contract awarded by the Land Registry in 1990–91, giving in each case the name of the consultancy firm and the subject of the assignment.

Management and computer consultancy contracts were awarded by the Land Registry in 1990–91 as follows:

Management consultancy Price Waterhouse—Review of the Agency's top management structure.

Computer consultancy Intergraph UK Ltd.—Technical advice on digital mapping. Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency—Departmental Consultancy Support Agreement providing ongoing technical advice, support and Information Technology procurement services.

The Land Registry's expenditure on these services in 1990–91 was £48,061.79.
