Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) if he will estimate the additional costs of providing for all men and women to claim a full state pension at a common retirement age of 60, 62 and 64 years of age, respectively, at the current level of state pension paid in 1991–92;

(2) if he will estimate the common retirement age for men and women for state pension purposes which would be cost neutral at 1991–92 levels of pension;

(3) if he will make a statement of Her Majesty's Government's current policy on a common retirement age for state pension purposes; and if he will make a statement.
