§ Mr. StrawTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what were the number of entries to and passes in the advanced supplementary level and advanced level examinations for each year since the introduction of AS-level; and what percentage the number of entries to, and passes in AS-level was of the number of entries to and passes in A-level in the same years.
§ Mr. EggarThe numbers of leavers attempting at least one AS examination as a proportion of those who attempted A-level examinations was 5.3 per cent. and for passes the proportion was 3.6 per cent.
