HL Deb 06 June 1991 vol 529 c47WA
Lord Peston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How the proposals in the education and training White Paper published on 20th May 1991 will ensure continuity in the 14 year-old to 19 year-old curriculum.

Baroness Blatch:

The White Paper Education and Training for the 21st Century sets out the Government's plans to improve and develop the education and training system for 16 to 19 year-olds. The school reforms introduced under the Education Reform Act are already strengthening the education system for pupils up to the age of 16. The policies in the White Paper will build on these reforms, and help ensure a fully-integrated system of education and training which will give all young people the chance to progress steadily from school, through to further and higher education, and to training in work.
