To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further progress has been made to enable Her Majesty's Customs and Excise to operate fully on next steps lines.

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced on 13 February the publication of a framework document for Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, and of the first three in the series of executive unit framework documents which describe the responsibilities, freedoms and accountabilities in individual units within the Department—Official Report, columns 480–81. Customs and Excise have now published framework documents for each of the remaining executive units, comprising:

  • Dover Collection
  • East Anglia Collection
  • Edinburgh Collection
  • Enforcement Divison
  • Glasgow Collection
  • Information Technology Divisions
