§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe main United Kingdom event in this field, on which efforts are concentrated, is our own long established and successful No Smoking Day, but the importance of World No Tobacco Day is also recognised.
On 31 May, the health education board for Scotland and Action on Smoking and Health (Scotland) will be formally integrated into GLOBALink, an international communication system for the exchange of anti-smoking information, while Glasgow 2000, a project supported by the board, will launch its initiative to promote smoke-free taxis throughout the city.
