HC Deb 03 June 1991 vol 192 c32W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what figures Her Majesty's Government have for the number of British plumbers, electricians, engineers and allied trades in the Ahmadi camp.

Mr. Sainsbury

Numbers have varied considerably from around 25 to around 50 but there are currently about 23 people staying at the BRIT camp at Fahaheel comprising carpenters, builders, electricians, telecommunication fitters, machine fitters, interior decorators and project managers.

Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations he has had from the City Kuwait Group.

Mr. Sainsbury

My right hon. Friend has received a number of verbal and written representations from the City Kuwait Group on financial issues arising from the restoration of Kuwait including advice on how the needs of claimants could be best met under the proposed United Nations Iraq compensation arrangements.
