§ Mr. CorbettTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether he will amend regulations made under the Social Security Act 1975 to permit a person on sickness benefit with an untreatable condition and incapable of work to be absent abroad without losing the right of benefit.
§ Mr. ScottSickness benefit may be paid during a temporary absence abroad if the absence is for the specific purpose of being treated for an incapacity which existed before the person left Great Britain; or if, on the day the absence begins, incapacity has already lasted for at least six months.
