To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has for change in the status or management of the royal parks.

Sir George Young

There are no proposals to change the status of the royal parks. They will continue to be managed by the Secretary of State on behalf of the Crown. However, my right hon. Friend is considering changes in the arrangements for carrying out ground maintenance work including putting the work out to tender.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his intentions for the future upkeep and maintenance of the royal parks.
