To ask the Secretary of State for Defence why military police refused access to the Powys emergency services to undertake radiation monitoring at the site of the crash of a US aircraft at Capel-y-ftin in February 1990; and if he will make a statement.

Under regulations governing the guarding of crashed military aircraft in the United Kingdom, access to a crash site is permitted only to specifically authorised personnel.
