asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many deaths were registered as cot death, sudden infant death syndrome (or similar term) under the age of one year, in England and Wales in 1990, in total, and divided (i) by age; (less than one week. one to three weeks, four weeks to one year); (ii) by sex; (iii) by months of the year (iv) by socio-economic class; and (v) by legitimate birth.
