§ Mr. Frank CookTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on pollution from chlorinated hydrocarbons discharged from the Atomic Energy Research Establisment at Harwell, in regard to threats to agricultural land.
§ Mr. CurryThe presence of chlorinated hydrocarbons in water abstracted form a borehole near the Atomic Energy Research Establisment at Harwell is being investigated by relevant bodies including the National Rivers Authority. The threat of pollution to agricultural land will be assessed in the light of the results of these investigations.
