To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the proportion of lone-parent families to all families with dependent children in Wales in 1971, 1987 and 1990.

Information from the labour force survey, which samples some 3,000 households in Wales, is given in the table for 1987 and 1990; equivalent data for 1971 are not available.
