To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much of the £50 million of direct assistance towards projects promoting good government will be spent in Kenya.

The £50 million, which I aim to have committed over the next year, has not been broken down on a country basis. We are already supporting such activities in Kenya at a cost this year to the aid programme of about £3 million. I would expect to do more in Kenya as a result of this initiative.
