To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will reword the guidelines to regulations in the Food Safety Act 1990 so as to remove their existing ambiguity.

I have been asked to reply. We are currently considering a number of comments on the draft code of practice on food hygiene inspections. It will be published in due course.
