To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of the United Kingdom electricity supply originates in Wales.

It is estimated that, in 1989, 8 per cent. of the electricity generated in the United Kingdom and supplied to the public distribution system—less amounts used on works—originated in Wales.
