To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make it his policy to publish the criteria used to assess applications for export licences and information about licences applied for and issued to British arms exporters.

The seven criteria used by EC member states in implementing national controls over arms exports were published in a declaration following the European Council meeting at Luxembourg on 28–29 June this year. The Council's communiqué containing the annex about arms control was placed in the Library on 1 July.
