HC Deb 23 July 1991 vol 195 cc532-3W
Mr. Matthew Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what programmes in the United Kingdom are benefiting from the EC's Horizon and Tide programmes and budgets.

Mr. Forth

[holding answer 22 July 1991]: On 19 April the European Commission notified that the United Kingdom had been allocated 15.6 million ecu—£11.1 million—for the Horizon programme over the period 1991–1993. The Government submitted the operational programme, outlining their intentions for the use of Horizon resources, on 12 July after an extension of the deadline had been agreed with the Commission. Individual project applications will be invited following consultation with the European Commission on the operational programme. This will be at the end of September.

The Tide programme is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health.
