§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeMy Department, supported by Her Majesty's inspectorate, is monitoring closely the performance of the 13 inner London local education authorities.
The 13 new authorities have received generous increases in their standard spending assessments for education—an 18 per cent. increase in 1991–92—and in addition are sharing £70 million of inner London education grant this year.
