HC Deb 22 July 1991 vol 195 c329W
Mr. Sheerman

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what modifications have been made to the design of main rail stations since the terrorist bomb outrage at Victoria station;

(2) if he will meet the chairman of British Rail to discuss the improvement of the design of major stations in order to make them less dangerous in the event of a terrorist attack.

Mr. Freeman

My right hon. and learned Friend meets the chairman regularly to discuss a range of railway matters. British Rail attaches high priority to security and safety and has undertaken a further review of security at stations since the bomb explosion at Victoria. It would not be in the public interest to disclose details of the further measures that BR has put in hand.
