HC Deb 22 July 1991 vol 195 c401W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will ease the procedures for claiming travel payments for patients who are required to travel a significant distance beyond their own district of residence to receive a necessary national health service treatment, irrespective of their personal resources; and if he has any plans to revise the present arrangements as part of the health service reforms.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

Assistance with travelling expenses to treatment centres is given under the hospital travel costs scheme, which we have no plans to extend.
