HC Deb 22 July 1991 vol 195 c424W
Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in theOfficial Report all existing quarry sites in Scotland which will be subject to the new provisions relating to interim development orders in the Planning and Compensation Bill [Lords].

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

This information is not held centrally. The Scottish Office Environment Department is carrying out a survey of planning authorities to establish the number of extant IDO permissions and the nature of the conditions attached to them.

Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the most detailed study to be carried out by the Scottish Office to improve the information currently available on interim development orders in Scotland; and when he expects to be able to publish the results.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The Scottish Office Environment Department wrote to planning authorities and other interested parties on 28 June seeking information on the number of IDO permissions extant, on the proportion currently providing the basis for mineral extraction and on the conditions, if any, attached to the permissions. Responses have been requested by 14 October and I expect to publish the results by the end of the year.
