§ Mr. ScottWhen we published our proposals for the introduction of the two new benefits, disability living allowance and disability working allowance, in "The Way Ahead—Benefits for Disabled People" (Cmd 917), we said that we would welcome comments and suggestions from disabled people and the organisations that represent them. We have met representatives of those organisations to hear their views and are grateful to them and to the many individuals who have taken the trouble to write in with comments on our proposals for both new benefits.
