To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give the number of dedicated energy managers and the number of person-years devoted to energy management in the latest year in the Prison estate.

There are three dedicated energy managers in the Home Office. In 1990–91 a total of about 4½ person-years was devoted to energy management.
