To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has to appoint an hon. Member to the Agriculture and Food Research Council.

§ Mr. Gummer
None. Last year my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science appointed my hon. Friend the Member for Stroud (Mr. Knapman) to the council with effect from 1 January 1991. His appointment will run until 31 July 1994.
