HC Deb 18 July 1991 vol 195 cc272-3W
Mr. Barron

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when the Manor of Maltby was held by the Honour of Tickhill; and what is its current status.

Mr. Chris Patten

The Domesday Book records the Manor of Maltby as holding the Honour of Tickhill. However Maltby gained its independence from the Honour in or about 1232—before the Honour became part of the possessions of the Duchy in 1372.

The Manor of Maltby is now part of the possessions of the Earl of Scarborough having been in the ownership of various families in earlier times.
