Mr. Andy StewartTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is yet in a position to relax movement restrictions imposed because of blue-ear pig disease; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Gummer[pursuant to his reply 17 July 1991]: I have today placed in the Library of the House details of the new arrangements for the movement of pigs in and from areas resricted as a result of blue-ear pig disease. These provisions incorporate comments made by the industry and have effect from midnight tonight. They allow certain controlled movements between premises and between restricted areas. No changes have been made for movements to premises outside restricted areas.
