§ Mr. Nicholas WintertonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans are currently being made by his Department to deal with the growth in demand for public and private sector housing which will arise when the establishment of the armed forces is reduced and service men and women cease to be entitled to Ministry of Defence housing.
§ Mr. YeoMy Department is in touch with the Ministry of Defence about the likely effects of "Options for Change". The final form that the changes will take has still to be decided, but I know my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence will be taking into account the housing implications.
