To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the abattoirs in Wales which slaughter fewer than 12 livestock units or cattle each week.

It would not be appropriate to list the information requested, in view of its commercial sensitivity. However, information on throughput derived from annual advisory visits by state veterinary staff to local authority licensed abattoirs is recorded in size bands. The 1990 figures for Wales are as follows:
