§ Mr. BaldryMy Department's "Digest of Environmental Protection and Water Statistics No. 13" published by HMSO in 1991 included in figure 5.3 an estimate that about 5 per cent. of the special waste produced in the United Kingdom in 1988 was disposed of by incineration. This figure is probably typical for any 12-month period in recent years.
