To ask the Prime Minister what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to enhance biodiversity and the protection of the rain forests in south America, south-east Asia and Africa.

On biodiversity, our activities are summarised in "Biological Diversity and Developing Countries: Issues and Options", which was published last month and which is in the Library.

British bilateral aid contributions to forest projects in progress or under consideration as at early 1991 are as follows:
