§ Mrs. Gillian Shephard[holding answer 9 July 1991]: At 1 April 1991 the number of non-industrial civil servants employed in Gwent and Glamorgan was 22,165. Analyses by location and by department are given in tables 1 and 2 respectively. No figures are held centrally of the number of industrial civil servants employed in Gwent and Glamorgan.
