To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he received from voluntary conservation movements concerning the new clause to the Natural Heritage (Scotland) Bill relating to the advisory committee on sites of special scientific interest.

The Scottish Office has received letters from the following voluntary conservation organisations on the subject of the advisory committee on SSSIs: The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the Worldwide Fund for Nature, the Scottish Wildlife Trust, Friends of the Earth (Scotland), and the Ramblers' Association.
