§ Mrs. Ann TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment which organisations have been consulted on the draft Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution internal procedure guidance notes for implementing integrated pollution control; whether he intends to consult more widely on these guidance notes and on the guidelines and criteria which Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution will use in enforcing integrated pollution control; and what is his deadline for comments.
§ Mr. TrippierThe following list indentifies those organisations that have been consulted on the HMIP internal procedures guidance, which will ultimately form the part of Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution (HMIP) procedures manual. This guidance includes the guidelines and criteria which Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution will use in enforcing integrated pollution control.
The consultation has been in two phases. The first phase containing the majority of the guidance material, started on 14 June with comments requested by 12 July. The second phase, consisting of a short three-page note was implemented on 2 July, with replies requested by 29 July.
There are no plans to consult more widely, although any organisation that would like to comment on the guidance documentation is at liberty to request a set through HMIP.
