To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the total number of occupational health nurses working in the United Kingdom.

The latest available—provisional—figures relate to the position at 30 September 1990. On that date there were 610 occupational health nurses employed in the hospital and community health services in England. Figures are not collected by the Department for occupational health nurses working elsewhere.
