To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what additional safety precautions he intends to take to ensure the safe transport by road of explosive materials to Ministry of Defence bases.

Mr. Chope

The transport by road of explosive materials is subject to the Road Traffic (Carriage of Explosives) Regulations 1989 with which the MOD must comply. I have no plans to require additional precautions.
