Mr. Winnick

To ask the Attorney-General what consideration the Director of Public Prosecutions is giving to prosecution of the British National party on grounds of incitement to racial hatred.

The Attorney-General

The Greater Manchester police have submitted a report to the Crown prosecution service concerning a meeting held by the British National party on 27 April 1991 at a school in Rochdale. This report is currently being considered by the Crown prosecution service with a view to determining whether any offence contrary to the Public Order Act 1986 or the Representation of the People Act 1983 has been committed by any individual.
